Step 1: mount before you search
Ride A Pet is built around movement. The creator’s official description connects faster pets to rarer eggs, so walking around while your pet is available works against the core loop. Equip the fastest practical ride you own. Jump matters when terrain blocks a direct route, but speed is the default first-session priority.
Step 2: let the Index choose the target
Open the in-game Index before committing to a search. Current guide and caption evidence indicate that it shows which eggs are on the map. Pick one egg that matches the route your current pet can actually reach. If the target is not listed, wait for a new spawn or work on cash instead.
Step 3: sweep, then use radar
Search one zone in a repeatable pattern: trace its outer edge, check large landmarks, then cut through the center. A radar is a fallback for a present-but-hidden egg, not the first thing to buy every time. The order matters: Index proves availability; your sweep removes obvious spots; radar closes the remaining uncertainty.
Step 4: carry, nest and hatch
Take the egg back to your ranch plot and place it in the available nest. If a timer appears, let it complete. Keep enough space for the hatch; do not begin another long search if your carrying capacity or nest is already occupied.

Do not upgrade forever without a target. Stop the speed loop when you can reach the active egg comfortably. Stop the cash loop when you can afford the planned purchase. Stop the hatch loop when a new pet no longer improves the stat tied to your goal.
